A full rebuild of a ground-floor apartment in an ancient villa near Lake Como, Italy. Studio Navet retained much of the original materials such as Venetian Terrazzo, an ancient wooden floor, and frescoed ceilings. Modern comfort was set against these historic details. The color palette gives the apartment a personality that tells the story of both the family who lives there and the villa itself.
To house the family and their guests, lofts were added in the bedrooms, making use of the high ceilings. French doors run throughout, opening almost every room onto the private garden of vines, trees, and grass.
